No unverified stranger ever gets your address.
Rideshare puts a vetted stranger in your car for eleven minutes. We put one inside your business or your tenant's home. So we adopted every rideshare safety protocol as a floor — then added the in-premises layer they don't need: licensure, verified insurance, and identity proof at your door.
Verification is a state machine, not a marketing claim.
Each stage gates the next, and a crew's badge reflects exactly which stages they've cleared — recorded, timestamped, per pro. We only claim what those records can prove.
Identity verification
Government ID plus selfie liveness match. The verified selfie becomes the badge photo — the canonical face you see before arrival, not a self-uploaded avatar.
Background screening
FCRA-compliant checks through a consumer reporting agency: national and county criminal records, sex-offender registry, watchlists, and driving records — with annual re-checks and continuous monitoring as the program scales.
License verification
Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC jobs route only to crews whose state license we've looked up against the issuing board — number, status, and classification on file.
Insurance verification
A certificate of insurance proving commercial general liability at $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate, with SendACrew named as additional insured — verified from the certificate, not self-reported, with expiry tracking.
Badges gate dispatch — hard-coded
VERIFIED identity + background cleared — the minimum to ever receive a dispatch. PRO adds verified license and active insurance, required for licensed trades. Unverified accounts receive nothing. There is no ops override.
Fail closed
Insurance lapsed? License expired? A monitoring flag? Dispatch eligibility drops automatically, pending human review — never the reverse. Every badge change is event-logged: who, what, when.
The person at your door proves they're the person we dispatched.
The moment you accept a quote, you get a 4-digit PIN — shown only to you. The crew can't mark themselves arrived without entering the PIN you read to them at the door. Rideshare PINs prove the rider got in the right car; ours proves the right person is standing at your threshold.
No PIN, no entry. That's the rule we tell customers, and it's enforced in software: the job status cannot advance without a verified PIN event.
Your arrival PIN
Read this to your pro at the door.
They can't start the job without it.
You know who's coming, and where they are.
The badge card
Verified photo, name, badge tier in plain language, rating, and vehicle description — on your screen the moment you accept a quote.
Live tracking, scoped to you
Watch the crew en route in real time. Location is visible only to the owner of that active job — never to anyone else, never after the job.
Check-in / check-out
Arrival is PIN-verified, departure is logged, and time-on-site is derived from records — not self-reported. A job with an arrival and no departure triggers a check from us.
Incident response with teeth.
Every report gets a severity, an owner, and a timestamped record that is never deleted. Serious allegations suspend dispatch eligibility immediately, pending investigation — automatically, with no-fault language, before any human decides anything.
| Severity | What it covers | Acknowledge | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Critical | Threat to life, violence, serious injury, active crime | Immediate | Call 911 first — then we're paged, the account is suspended pending investigation, and insurer and counsel are notified same day. |
| High | Theft allegation, threatening behavior, major property damage, PIN mismatch at the door | Within 1 hour | Trust & Safety lead takes over; suspension pending review; insurers notified when a claim is plausible. |
| Medium | Minor damage, unbadged helper on site, no-show at an occupied home | Within 4 hours | Investigated and pattern-tracked — repeat incidents trigger account review. |
| Low | Rudeness, lateness, messy work area | Within 24 hours | Handled by support; feeds ratings and pattern data. |
On serious incidents we preserve everything — the work order, messages, check-ins, PIN events, location trail, and photos — under legal hold. The record is the witness.
Insurance we verify, not insurance they claim.
Most marketplaces let pros self-report insurance and tell you to check it yourself. We collect the certificate, verify the coverage, track the expiry date, and automatically pull dispatch eligibility when a policy lapses.
- $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate commercial general liability — the requirement for every Pro-badged crew.
- SendACrew named as additional insured — the endorsement that extends the crew's coverage to the platform and, through it, protection for the work we dispatch.
- Expiry tracking with automatic demotion — a lapsed certificate drops the Pro badge and licensed-trade eligibility the day it expires.
- Platform coverage on our own paper — contingent liability held by SendACrew itself, as the program completes rollout, for the cases that reach us anyway.
What we claim, and what we don't.
This program is rolling out in phases, and we'd rather tell you exactly where it stands than round up. Here is the honest version:
- The badge gate is absolute. Only crews that have cleared identity verification and background screening are eligible to receive a dispatch. That rule is enforced in code, from day one, with no exceptions.
- Badges are per-pro, at query time. We don't make blanket claims like "all pros are background-checked." We show you each crew's verification status, backed by a timestamped record, when you're choosing a quote.
- Some layers are still maturing. Continuous criminal monitoring, automated license re-verification, and photo re-verification at check-in are on the roadmap as the network scales — we'll describe them as live only when they are.
- Crews are independent businesses. SendACrew verifies credentials and gates dispatch as described here; the crews themselves are independent contractors responsible for their work. Our terms say exactly what we do — no more, no less.

Safety features are product features.
The badge, the PIN, the tracking, the escrow — they're the reason operators pick SendACrew over a phone number from a search result.
